Sunday, November 18th:
I went to NYC for a brunch date with some of my friends and I can start to feel the winter weather coming! It was about 30 degrees outside and I could hear my mom in the back of my mind saying, “I told you to put on more layers. You should’ve worn a thicker sweater” (that’s what she used to say when I was a kid and still says it to this day).
When I was younger, the winter jackets I had were never considered “fashionable.” I never felt “cool” or “trendy” when I wore my black puffer jacket from North Face, but I sure was warm!! However, for the up and coming winter months, I’ve decided to buy winter jackets that are not only warm, but super chic as well. One in particular is this really unique and trendy aviator jacket from Nasty Gal. I’ve seen jackets like this on other sites like ASOS, NAKDFashion, Missguided and many more, but I hadn’t seen one with this grey/blueish faux fur. I think this color is perfect for those “winter blues” and neutral enough to go with a bunch of different looks.
I paired this jacket with a white turtleneck bodysuit, black jeans, a western style black belt, vintage Dolce Vita boots, and this adorable bag from a brand called Crossybody.DK. I picked this bag because it has that grey/blue color which is complimented perfectly by the grey/blueish color in the jacket. I’ve been super into incorporating pieces with a western vibe lately, so I thought this belt from Urban Outfitters would be perfect. For jewelry, I kept it simple wearing all silver – silver hoops, my everyday silver rings, and my silver Tiffany & Co necklace that I wear every day as well.
Winter fashion doesn’t have to be compromised when deciding what winter jacket to wear. You can still keep warm AND be super fashionable during the colder months! Let me know some of your favorite fashionable winter coats!
