I feel like a good quality blazer or blazer dress is a staple item in one’s wardrobe. Maybe not in the top 5 list, but definitely in the top 10! There are so many ways to wear a blazer dress from dressing it up to dressing it down, wearing it as an oversized jacket with jeans, pairing it with high knee boots, having it as a layering piece – the list can go on and on. Also, I’ve seen it as a huge trend in the SS19 fashion shows (spring and summer trends post coming soon). So, definitely something to consider purchasing for the spring season!

The outfit:

This is collaboration with Missy Empire – my girls! I can’t thank them enough for continuing to collab with me! This dress is called the Leandra Belted Blazer dress in the color camel. I am obsessed with this color, I feel like it will look good on any skin tone. Usually, (in my personal experience since I’m fairly tall) buying t-shirt dresses and blazer dresses have been a struggle. 90% of the time they look more like a shirt than a dress (for example, check out my previous post HERE about this t-shirt “dress” looking nothing like a dress on me and how I styled it to make it work!) For being pretty tall, this blazer dress wasn’t too short and turned out to be a perfect length on me!

The blazer dress came with its own belt, but I wanted to pair it with this black chunky belt from Ralph Lauren to add a color block and really define my waist. I kept going with the black details and wore a black turtleneck shirt, black high knee boots, and my black bag that I have been obsessed with lately. I kept the jewelry simple and wore all gold necklaces along with a chunky gold ring to match the gold detailing in the purse.

I am so happy with how this outfit turned out and I already have ideas on how to style this blazer dress in different ways – so keep on eye out for that in the future! Let me know if you are into the “tailored-made” trend and if you can see yourself rocking a blazer dress!
