Now this is me REALLY stepping out of my comfort zone! Neons – I’ve seen this trend everywhere this season. I’ve been getting a lot of inspiration from Pinterest, other fashion bloggers, and some model-styles like Bella Hadid and Hailey Baldwin, to try and style a look that incorporated neons. I was super hesitant and couldn’t find something I liked until I was scrolling on Missy Empire’s website and found this neon green turtleneck shirt.
I was thinking for a while how to style this shirt, going back and forth between keeping it casual or going full throttle and making the look super edgy. I thought why not, and bought these awesome leather pants from Tiger Mist called the Lennon pant. These are the first pair of leather pants that I ever bought and I must say, they are pretty comfortable. Not to mention, high waisted and super cute with all of the zipper detailing around the leg. The neon shirt is already kind of edgy, so why not stick with the theme? Right?
For accessories, I have on my favorite black sunnies from Quay and kept the jewelry simple wearing my go-to gold chain necklace. As always, I wore my rings that I wear everyday (yes they are silver, but it doesn’t bother me to clash gold and silver jewelry together). Keeping the shoes simple as well, I paired this look with these black Dolce Vita booties. Because it’s basically winter, you can try styling this look with a warm leather jacket to keep the outfit pretty monochromatic and make the neon shirt the star of the show.
Let me know what you think of this outfit! It totally put me out of my comfort zone because I (usually) would never grab a bold shirt like this. But, I must say it was super fun to put together and be a little more edgy with my style. As always, everything will be linked down below.
