I’ve never been one to wear foundation….at all…ever. The one time I wore foundation was for senior prom. I always hated the way it felt on my face, I felt like it was clogging my pores, I was ANTI foundation use! UNTIL I was sent Clove and Hallow Liquid Skin Tint.
Clove & Hallow was founded by makeup artist Sarah Biggers in Atlanta, Georgia. The brand marries clean cosmetics with the swoon-worthy aesthetic, performance and shade range of your favorite conventional brands at a price-point that doesn’t make you’re wallet want to cry.
Majority of the products I used are listed in the “shop the post” carousel – I found similar products and dupes as well. This routine takes me about 15 minutes to do. First step: Foundation. This is where I used the Clove and Hallow Skin Tint in shade 5 since I am tanner because of summer. Next step: Concealer. You can use any concealer you want, but I am using Maybelline’s Instant Age-Rewind concealer. It works just as well as Tarte’s Shape Tape, but cheaper!
Once the concealer is blended in, I used some translucent powder to lock everything in place. Then, find your favorite blush, bronzer and highlighter. Put the blush on the apples of you cheeks, the bronzer in the contours of your face, and the highlighter on high points of your face. (I have an IGTV video on my Instagram if you want to see a tutorial on how I apply everything!)
For the eyes, I like to put my bronzer in the crease of my lid and add some Glossier’s Lidstar glistening eye glow in the color cub – it’s this really pretty rose gold color. On the lid, I like to add the highlighter I used on my my face to tie the whole look together. Pop on your favorite eyeliner, mascara, and neutral lip combo (my favorite nude lip liner at the moment is Sephora Collection Bite Lip Liner in 020) and there you have it!
If you end up recreating this look, make sure to let me know! I’d love to know your go-to makeup routine as well! Remember to take a look at my IGTV and say hi!
xx, Maggie
